Community Development:

The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Jaycees believe in giving back to the community. You will find that projects in this area are aimed at volunteering time to make a positive difference in our community.

Community Fundraising:

What better way to find out about our own community than by donating our time and services to those in need? Community Fundraising establishes projects that generate the means and money to run the projects that make those differences in the community.

To accomplish this goal, the members of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Jaycees plan, participate in, and sponsor a variety of events in the Shenadoah Valley. We also participate in other events thru out the state with other chapters.

We are the organization of choice for young people between the ages of 21 and 39. All Jaycees chapters in Virginia have a shared core philanthropy.

Embodying the line of the Jaycee Creed that states, "Service to humanity is the best work of life," this area develops the sensitivity of individual members to societal problems, and knowledge of community dynamics in solving these problems, through actual experience. Like all citizens, Junior Chamber members have a stake in the betterment of their communities.
